What is BeforeMainstream?

BeforeMainstream is a discovery engine for emerging clothing and footwear brands. It scans public sources, analyzes brand identity, detects style signals and places each brand into a searchable map of categories, tags and aesthetics.

It is not a personal stylist and not a shopping app. It is a living brand radar, built to surface brands you would not easily find through normal shopping, Google, Instagram or mainstream fashion media.

How the radar works

  1. We scan stockists, blogs and curated sources for new brand drops.
  2. An AI reads the site, pulls style, category and price signals.
  3. Each brand gets scored: discovery, mainstream, momentum.
  4. High-confidence brands publish on their own. The rest go to review.

The crowd decides what is early

Every brand can be voted Early, I'd wear, Too mainstream, or Not it. Those signals help surface the brands young people actually care about before they become obvious. Brands cannot pay to rank higher, and we link to the source instead of republishing content.
